“The direction of climate change in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas”

“What is happening in Chiapas and San Cristóbal?”

This year in San Cristobal we have suffered from the strongest heat in 70 years and much flooding in all of Chiapas. We are also watching the green areas and hills of the city run out, water being polluted, and our wetlands dry out and be paved over. In addition, within the changes we are seeing, drastic changes in temperature and sudden droughts are being predicted, which will bring new illnesses. All of these irregularities will be the cause of loss of crops, jobs, and rise in the prices of basic foods.
